Frequently Asked Questions

Will this dummy battery work with a standard 5V/2A USB power bank?

No. Standard power banks with only a 5V output will not work. This dummy battery requires a Power Delivery (PD) or Quick Charge (QC) enabled USB-C power source capable of delivering 20W to 65W to trigger the required operating voltage.

Which Nikon camera models are compatible with this EN-EL15 dummy battery?

It is compatible with Nikon cameras using the EN-EL15 battery format, including the Nikon Z6, Z7, D850, D810, D800, D750, D7500, D7200, D7100, and D7000.

My original battery has a code like TC-ENEL15 or DR-ENEL15. Is it compatible?

Yes. Dummy batteries and third-party replacement battery models may carry prefix variations such as TC-ENEL15 or DR-ENEL15. As long as your original battery model number corresponds to the EN-EL15 series, it is fully compatible.

What type of USB-C chargers can I use to power this setup?

You can power this dummy battery using PD power banks, desktop PD chargers, wall-mount PD adapters, or PD car chargers rated between 20W and 65W.

Does the dummy battery fit inside the camera’s battery compartment directly?

Yes, it slides directly into the camera’s EN-EL15 battery slot. Pass the spring cable through the camera’s rubber cable pass-through port so the battery door can close completely.

How long is the spring power cable?

The coiled spring cable extends up to 120 cm (3.9 feet), giving you flexibility to place your external power bank in your pocket, bag, or mounted on a tripod.
